Can I get contacts and text messages off of my broken galaxy S3

The touch screen and viewing part of my screen on my galaxy S3 does not work. I had Verizon transfer my number into an old iphone, but there are some new numbers in my contact list and text messages that I would like to get off of the broken phone. I have been able to get the pictures off of the phone by attaching the USB cable to my computer, but I can not find a folder that has contact information or text messages. Please help.

Contact information and texts are in database files. Your contacts should be entered as Google contacts, so they should all be at Google Contacts. You can export them to a file and import them into the iPhone or you can use an Android phone set up to the same account and it will sync the contacts.

The texts are probably gone, unless you can find a local shop with a "lost cause" S3 with a good screen that's willing to plug their screen into your phone long enouh for you to save your texts off to an SD card (or email them to yourself).
