how to unlock my encrypted s3

Hi, I found a easy way to bypass me password on-the-go by lazy-swiping my password rather than to type it in, smart right!!, well now I have a problem my phone battery went dead so i switch out my main battery with the backup but my problem is on the start up screen I can use is the samsung keyboard but I can't swip my password anymore and that's the only keyboard I can use. Can somebody out there give me a better way to give in to my phone

Welcome to Android Central! I'm a bit confused--why can't you just tap-type your password? It shouldn't make a difference if you swipe-type or tap-type it.

I wasn't aware that you can swype type the unlock keyboard.
