How do I fix an Insert SIM card message.?

Insert SIM card message.

Yesterday I received a please insert SIM card error message but the SIM card was inserted already, this seemed to start after I inserted my 4gig memory card, I opened up the device & everything looked fine, I reinserted the sim & removed the memory card but the message remains.
So far I have cleared the cache & restored to factory settings & tried other SIM cards with no change so am at a loss as what to do.
Galaxy S3 unrooted, running 4.3.

Welcome to Android Central! It sounds like something may have gone wrong with the actual SIM tray/slot. Unfortunately, you may have to bring the phone to a Samsung service center or a phone repair shop.
