I just had my S3 rooted or so I have been told it was but yet I don't really notice any difference. if i go into my settings and the "about device" it is still showing the original version of Android version 4.4.2 and Kernel version 3.4.0-1514807. Can anyone out there give me some help and thank you.

Do you have the SU or Superuser app installed? If not, install it and see if it sees that you are rooted.

Another way is to download terminal emulator and type su (press enter) and see if it returns #. If it does then you are rooted.
