How do I upgrade OS on rooted VZW S3 (SCH-I535)
I need some help on how to update the OS on my rooted Verizon Galaxy S3 (SCH-I535). I rooted this device shortly after I got it so it currently has OS 4.0.4, Build # OMM76D.I535VRALF2. I don't know many more details, like if I unlocked the bootloader or installed a recovery. I installed OTA Blocker b/c every time VZW sent a OS update the install failed and the device went into a install-fail-loop.
I am switching to Straight Talk service and my understanding is that I'll need to have OS 4.1.2 minimum for the service to work (so I can set "GSM network"). So can someone tell me how I can successfully upgrade from my current state to 4.1.2 or newer?
I imagine I'll need ODIN and the new firmware. Is it that simple? Where is a safe website to get the official firmware? If I lose root I'd be OK with that.
Thanks
