S3 'camera' folder in gallery missing, how can I get it back?

S3 'camera' folder in gallery missing, please HELP me.

I have a problem on my S3. I opened gallery today and the 'camera' folder in missing, all other folders still there, checked these other folders in case the pics from 'camera' had put themselves into another folder but no luck with that. Checked in 'my files', nothing there, checked for 'nomedia' as per the advice in a similar post, there is nothing at all in that file.
Connected S3 to computer to see if anything extra would show up by looking at the phone contents through the computer but no luck with that.
I then took a picture with my phone, opened it and the 'camera' folder is there again but with only the one picture that I just took in it. How can all the pics in my 'camera' folder have vanished into thin air, can someone please help me? :'(

Does the phone have an SD card, and if so, is the Camera app set to save photos to the SD card by default, or to Internal Storage? If it was saving to the SD card, it's possible the card is corrupt.

Hi, Yes I thought of that except I have other picture folders on the sd card and they are all there, so I presumed that it probably wasn't an sd card problem, do you think it still might be? Thanks

It still could be SD card corruption. Unmount the card (in Settings>Storage), remove it, and insert it into your computer. Run chkdsk to look for bad sectors: http://forums.androidcentral.com/am...guide-using-chkdsk-fix-corrupted-sd-card.html
