Phone not ringing / No missed call / Random Voicemail

So. I started my Galaxy venture with the Galaxy S3. I had the same issue on that phone. I would get a voicemail alert, except that my phone never rang and I had no missed call alert. Verizon sent me 3 different Galaxy S3s before I finally switched to the iPhone.

When I got bored with the iPhone, I went to the Galaxy S4. The phone was great for a while, until I started getting random voicemail alerts again.

The Galaxy S5 came out, and I switched. The phone was great for a while, until I started getting random voicemail alerts again.

I went back to iPhone, and probably went through 2 or 3 different apple phones.

Now I finally went back to the Galaxy S6 Edge... It was great. UNTIL NOW! I'm starting to get random voicemails. My phone doesn't ring. My phone doesn't show a missed call. Just voicemails.

Have you considered the possibility that you are working/living in areas with poor reception and maybe you're getting those voicemails because the call never goes through? If it happened with the iPhones as well, that's pretty much the most likely explanation.
