S3's screen doesn't start -- shows black screen and pink dots on startup

A little while ago my phone's screen stopped working, but the phone itself seems to start up. I've never dropped it so I'm not sure what the problem is, maybe something inside burnt up. Is there anyway to fix this or access the files in my phone? My phone's protected by a password, if it matters.

Welcome to Android Central! Looks like a screen failure. It may just be due to aging components. Or water exposure, if that's a possibility. You'll have to bring it to a repair shop for screen replacement.
