Samsung Galaxy S3 screen not working/black?

A

AC Question

Hi, a while ago I dropped my phone in the toilet (Samsung Galaxy s3), I have since gotten a new phone, but have kept my the old one as well. For a long time the phone would not work at all, but recently I connected it to a portable charger bank for a while and the top a bottom lights came on. But, the screen remained black, the volume cannot be increased either. The off/on, and bottom buttons work though. What is the problem? I saw online it could be the flex lcd connecter, but where exactly is that located?? There are so many flex connectors on the circuit, what do I have to do to fix this??

Welcome to Android Central! Since the phone was immersed in water, it could be a number of different components that have been damaged by water, not just one. I suspect that only replacing the connecting cable will not solve the problem.
