When I try to download music from my Google play music account I get a message saying "the selected storage device has been removed to keep music please insert the storage device or select a different download storage location from the settings" But the memory card is in the phone. I've removed it and put it back in but I still get the same message. Does anyone have any suggestions about this?

Are you having any other difficulties with that SD card? SD cards can be notorious for becoming corrupt, especially in Samsung devices. Try a different card.

So I had this exact thing happen to me today out of the blue. Didn't make any sense (Galaxy S 5). I use my SD card to store offline music.

What I had to do was go into Settings-->Storage location and re-choose my External storage. For some reason it was showing a 3rd option which was selected and grayed-out like it had been removed. See if that helps. I didn't remove the card or anything, so I'm still not sure why it happened.

EDIT: One point --> you'll have to re-download all your music again.
