    Im always out of date on my phones concerning lollipop and marshmallow. I here all the talk but wonder if Im missing something and wonder if I should look into rooting

    Well, seeing as the user's of the S4 mini are stuck on the Kitkat update, rooting it could essentially bypass that. You see, you could download the marshmallow ROM if you can find it. For instance, my Nexus 7 (2012) is running on 6.0. You can also, if not happy with android but want to keep the phone, you could look and probably find some form of apple kernel.
