unable to turn on wifi after root

after rooting with chainfire's auto root i realized my sprint gs4 was no longer able to toggle wifi on... it would at most just say "turning on" and stay greyed out... now i flashed back to stock and am able to turn on my wifi once again... what's going on here guys.. is there a fix? i really want to root my device for cyanogenmod and other things but i really don't want to lose wifi functionality... any responses would be great. thank you

Did you just root it and keep it stock? Have you tried flashing CM and seeing if wifi will turn on with that rom?
