I've got an s4 and have been told I should root my phone but I've never rooted a device before and to be honest I don't really understand what the benifits are. I've been looking about trying to see what the benifits are but each time the info rants on and on but never really says in plain English what benifits it has.
Could someone explain it clearly or give me a link that explains this clearly.

    Welcome to Android Central!

Most people root their phones to install custom versions of the OS, to be able to uninstall apps that are not able to be uninstalled with out root, and to do other administrator types of things on the phone. If you are not in to any of that then rooting is unnecessary.
