Hey guys, I had my phone rooted but the screen started messing up so I ended up calling for a replacement. When my replacement gets here I have to send this phone back, but I think the phone is still rooted even though I reset it to factory.

It's currently at factory settings right now but still boots with the 'set warranty bit: kernal' at the top left. I don't want to send this back and end up being charged just because it was rooted.

How do I totally reset this thing.

And another question, not sure if it needs another post. I seem to have lost all my contacts. Before I reset the phone I had all those backup syncs checked off for both my google and samsung accounts. But when I try to restore the contacts nothing comes back. Also no apps. Only thing that got recovered were all my SMS messages.

I have an SD card and all the folders that were on the phone prier to the reset copied on my computer, but I can't find anything involving contacts in any of them.

They will void your warranty because the phone is rooted.

Regarding your contacts did you by chance use Google sync to back them up?
