S4 to be $579?

it's a terms and conditions link that I got the link from Forbes:

Samsung's holding a sweepstakes that began March 14th and will go through April 22nd.

PRIZE DETAILS:
First Prizes: 48 First Prizes will be awarded, each consisting of a Samsung Galaxy S? 4 mobile device. Approximate Retail Value ("ARV"): $579.
Grand Prizes: 4 Grand Prizes will be awarded, each consisting of one (1) Samsung Galaxy S? 4 mobile device and one (1) 55" Samsung Smart TV. ARV: $2,679.

So according to this it looks like the 16GB model (more than likely, 32GB would be a steal) will be $580, which is well cheap considering I thought it would be in the $700+ like most unlocked smartphones. If this price is true, does this sway some of you that were on the fence before to buying an S4?

What was the S3 unsubsidized when it first came out? Not to compare to iPhone but that is $649 off and $199.99 on contract.

That would be great if it was only $149.99!

549.99 I preordered. The Note 2 was 649.99.

I predicted 199.99 on contract. But if I get it it will be no commitment, it will have to be pretty sweet for me to give up my Nexus 4, especially with KLP coming out.

people go bananas for phones on ebay its ridiculousness, and sellers always say " well on ebay i can get" minus ebay listing, selling, paypal fees, lol not so much win...

sorry for the rant for 600 or less on this would be great

Hopefully it is under 600 since I have to buy full price to keep unlimited data for now

At this point it looks like I'll be dumping my iPhone 4s for a SGS4 this spring/summer. If the unlocked price is < $600 then I'll go for that even though I'm up for an upgrade with AT&T. It would be worth it just to keep their branding off the device and get updates faster.
