Just when I was about to pull the trigger on buying the GS4, I now find out no Google Wallet? I've never bought a carrier branded android device, so I never know which apps are blocked.

I'm in Austin and just activated my ISIS a week ago for testing. Setup required some ISIS customer service assistance, Verizon store was pretty clueless but tried to help. I do think that the main issue could have been related to the recent OS update. I had to completely reload the app and somewhat start all over from when I first bought the phone in November. After the service was set back up, it had some updating of its own to do too. I'm fairly tech minded and don't give up on things very easily but I really had to make an effort to get this thing going. They will have to work out some of the kinks before the mainstream consumer will adopt it fully. So the process hasn't been seamless but the results so far have been pretty cool. The service works fantastic at the vending machines at my work, McDs down the street and basically anyplace that has an NFC reader. It doesnt have to be just ISIS branded. I received my companion card in the mail that works everywhere else that doesnt have NFC readers and I can use that at ATMs also. I only reload it with an amount I think Ill need and loading from another card is easy and instant. I will summarize by saying in my case, getting starting had some hiccups but the ability to use my phone this way is very convenient and futuristic I look forward to it becoming more mainstream but until then I will continue to impress my friends by paying by phone
Hmm, well I'm confused. So any NFC reader will read Isis? Meaning, if they take Google Wallet they will, by default, accept Isis? Any idea when the service will spread to more cities?

Yes, if the terminal has the paypass logo on it, it will work for Google Wallet or ISIS.

The bottom line is the ISIS carriers are simply trying to hold off Google Wallet until they can get theirs rolled out. Its already been proven by Verizon's own words that the very security issue they say Google Wallet fails at is the same section that ISIS uses so in turn it should also be an issue, but somehow its not. I am sure Google Wallet will eventually be allowed, either by hook or by crook it will happen. Verizon got hit with a small fine for not allowing tethering apps on the Play Store and that violated the spectrum use so Google Wallet is the same thing.

I agree, Raptor, but eventually is not soon enough for me. And probably for most of us.

I've had my s3 for almost a year and had wallet since my first galaxy nexus so really it doesn't matter if it doesn't come with the phone as long as you root and unlock the bootloader anything is possible......

Not interested in any NFC payment system that robs me of my credit card rewards (i.e. cash back etc etc)... which is exactly what GW did with any credit card I registered on their system.

But, you shouldn't be forced to do that because of a carrier's anticompetitive practices.

I put my AMEX on GW and still get membership rewards...I do not use it often, since I mainly use my debit card on GW. How did you loose your rewards?

I was going to say you can log into GW and select what card you want to use for that NFC payment and move on. Allows you greater freedom without having to carry all of your plastic.
