You are okay for wanting wait. Galaxy has become the defacto standard for Android. This is a problem. I know I am guilty of it, I have never had an android phone that was not a Samsung.

    Instinct--> moment --> Epic --> Epic 4G Touch --> Galaxy SIII.

I realized about 5 months ago that there where issues with radios in these phones. I had equated weak radios to Android.

I was in Las Vegas, watching the Fountains at the Bellagio. I saw plenty of S3's in the air trying to get a signal. I saw other people using Iphones and EVO 4G LTE's working just fine. I started asking if these people had Sprint, like I do.

Some did, some did not. The iPhone and Evo's on Srpint, functioned just fine. The Galaxys, where all with out a signal.

I got home, and was leaving work. My friend Nicky was on her iPhone 5 from Sprint, talking to her daughter. I was looking at AC forums. I shut my screen down until I got out of the elevator. Nicky, plus all of the iPhone users all said their phones work just fine in the elevator.

Going to work the next day, I asked all 8 of the S3 users, from all the carriers, how did thier phones work in elevators. All 8, same thing, no signal. No signal in our local uber Grocery store. No signal in our basement. I work at a large hospital.
In my household, there are 3 S3's and 2 S2's. All have the same exact issues with the radio. My wife can't even get a good wifi signal at school, let alone make a phone call. Her lab partner uses an iPhone on Sprint, and she has to use her phone for searches.

People on AC will pounce on you for saying something wrong about the S3. I am one of those ex Samsung Fanboys. I made that same mistake.

The radios on these phones are weak. I will not be getting the S4 until I can confirm that the radio is not the same as the weak radio the others use. I will never use an Apple device, I will go to HTC, Moto, or ANYONE else who makes a good radio.

You hang tight, see what the others have to offer.

why rush in to purchase, you'll have to use the phone for a year+, so might as well wait a 2 weeks so the phones are more thoroughly compared. HTC one forums have issues.

I have had HTC phones since the original EVO 4G.... I had the EVO 4G, Evo 3D and currently the EVO 4G LTE..
It seems that every year I'm torn between Samsung and HTC, and between those two I pick the one that I think works best, in the past I just liked the way the HTC phones worked with Sense.. until now...
I'm not liking what they did with Sense 5, I watched the videos and I played with one the other day at the Sprint corporate store, and to me, it's not a nice as the previous versions.

this time I like the Galaxy S4 WAY better than the HTC One.. and this is coming from an "HTC guy"..

Sounds mighty fishy... Half of our office of 200 people have S3s... I have never heard of this occurring.... And I am a Sys Admin so I hear about every sinlge quirk in relation to tech within the company... People even whine to me about the coffee maker... And that has nothing to do with me.

Samsung has absolutely been terrible in regards to signal strength. Pretty well documented on this forum and others. The Note 2 however has had pretty excellent reception. I sure hope it carries over to the S4!

Really? Fishy? Seriosuly? This forum, and a simple google search tells you that this is a fact. This issue is widely reported, and there was even an article linked here analyzing the signal strength with these phones. I ignored these posts, insisting that the Galaxy could do no wrong. Facts are facts, these phones have issues with the radio.

That's what I am waiting to see. If it has the same radio as the Note II, this phone is bought. If it has the S3, S2 and S1 radio, forget it. The radio causes battery anxiety, I am sick of battery anxiety.

I've only ever had HTC phones and I've not had any complaints. But I'm switching to the Galaxy s4 this time around anyway. What made me jump ship? The removable battery and the micro SD storage slot. All of my previous HTC phones had this - but the ONE does not. Those are major features to me and I want my phone to have both.

My husband once went swimming in the lake with his Vibrant in his pocket. (That phone was a serious POS, by the way!) It was submerged for 10 minutes! He got out, took the battery out, let it dry and you know what? It still worked! He did a similar thing with his brand new iphone5 (he majorly jumped ship bc he hated that Vibrant so much!) and it did NOT survive - because he was unable to take the battery out. (That and, you know, the iphone totally blended to bits while the Samsung phone was still bouncing around that blender in one piece! ha!)

I almost said "NO SAMSUNG!" after we had to send that Vibrant in to be replaced 7 times (yes - SEVEN times!) but from what I've read, the s4 is in no way like that old crappy Vibrant. Here's hoping!

People dropped calls all the time on AT&T with the the iPhones for 4 years, nobody complained until they could go to Verizon...doesn't mean it doesn't happen. I bet if you asked how often they drop calls or have conversations 'cut out' you'd be surprised. For whatever reason, people inherently defend products they own....like pretending your ugly baby is cute.

The HTC One is a nice phone. But from the financial side keep these facts in mind:

According to HTC Q1 2013 financial results the Taiwanese manufacturer reported its lowest ever profit, a paltry $2.8 million in the first three months of the year. How bad is this? Its a colossal 98% drop from the same time last year when it was $173 million. Revenue for Q1 2013 was $1.4 billion, down 37% over the year ago same quarter. The main reason for such a poor show is largely being blamed on the unavailability of HTC One. HTC announced their new flagship in the third week of February and its still largely unavailable in most parts of the world. The global availability was originally scheduled for March but parts unavailability meant HTC had no choice but to delay the launch. This means that these financial figures dont have any sales for the One included.

What these HTC Q1 2013 financial results also show is that HTC is relying a little too much on the success of the One. $2.8 million in income means hardly any other phone was sold. One alone will not be enough to turn around the tide. They do have the First, which is a Facebook phone, but how that plans out is yet to be seen. The next quarter is absolutely crucial for HTC. If they continue to bleed money, it will be curtains for them.

Hopefully HTC doesn't go belly up as a company. But on $1.4 billion of revenue and they only make $2.8 million profit? And the $1.4 billion of revenue was down 37% from the previous year's same 1st quarter? Yikes ..!!

On the other hand Samsung is very strong financially.

Verizon made my choice easy, they don't offer the one. we have three other phones with Verizon, I was not jumping ship and having two carriers. I am sure the S4 will be a good phone, make me very happy once Verizon releases it.
