I know that as of now the international varient of the Galaxy S4 uses the Exynos 5 Octa. It runs ARM's big-little architecture. What I am wondering is if the S4 will be able to be hacked (rooted, overclocked...) in a way that allows the S4 to run similar to a full 8 core device, instead of simply using only 4 cores at a time. Thought this was an interesting idea that has most likely been thought of before.

I highly doubt it, since I'm pretty sure the implementation of this is done at a level that can't really be touched. Of course, I'm not an expert, and could be wrong. It also might not be worth the effort. Battery life would be horrible if those high powered A15 cores were on all of the time.

    Its already blazing fast.
Battery life will probably, suffer from this dramatically.

It can run all 8 cores at a time theoretically but what would that be useful in?

Actually it can't run all 8 cores at a time due to broken CCI,only one cluster be active at a time.
