In iOS there is a central place in the setting that lists all the apps and you can turn on/off push notifications very easily.

Does the s4 have something like this?

I've figured everything out - this was my one question
Sort of a pain in the *** to control app notifications - this is the first thing I have found where iOS has it beat

A bit late to the conversation, but totally agree. This allows the apps to control if/when users can change notifications. Case in point, I'm using cPro (Craigslist pro) and it's pushing notifications that I can't turn off because there are no such options in the app. Not sure if it's just pure weasel move or an oversight, but come on people! It even more annoying because the generic notifications are absolutely useless -- "The are new postings on Craigslist." Duh, really? Thanks for breaking that shocker news.
