Guys,

I just received my S4 today, and I totally love it!
However, I do have an issue with the lock screen widgets...

I went to Three ways to add camera shortcuts to the Galaxy S4 lock screen | Android Central , as I want to add a camera shortcut to my lockscreen.
However, in the video at 0:29 it shows LOTS of options that I don't have?

I only have the following option under my 'Lock Screen Widgets" menu;
- Favorite Apps or Camera (which is greyed out, so I can't access it)
- Clock or personal mesage
- Edit personal message
----------------------------
How can I get access to all the settings that the video shows me?

I would try checking to see if you have any updates for your phone first. If that doesn't work, try rebooting into recovery and wiping the phone's cache, and check again.

I don't have an S4, but maybe dig around in the settings a bit? Otherwise, as previously mentioned, try clearing caches.

You should have Lock Screen under your general settings. Then choose Lock Screen Shortcuts. It should give you an option to change yourl options.

Its because you are using the pattern for unlock. I just tried putting in a pattern and my options were instantly limited to what you are seeing.

I have the same problems. Just downloaded and installed the AT&T update and the problem is still there - see screenshots below for reference:

same as OP, you are using the pattern for the unlock so i guess its part of tw

@alpha; I just tried this and it works!! ;)
It is kinda stupid though why an extra layer of security would decrease certain options...

Here is an option I would like, coming from HTC (new to the Galaxy) I was able to keep the lock screen on forever long as it was charging. My HTC 4g LTE would dim after 10 sec. while charging but would stay on.
I don"t see anything remotely close to an option like this in the S4 lock screen settings. Or am I missing something? I can"t always use Smart Stay to keep the lock screen on. Any suggestions?

I have this issue myself, I dont have a 'Lock Screen Shortcuts' button at all, which means I cant add shortcuts to the lockscreen. Can you run through again how I fix this, I am new to Android (2 weeks) and cant work it out.

And for what its worth I am using 'Swype' to unlock the lockscreen.

THANKS :)

The same to me also this option is completely absent from my menu also. Also tried every possible solution mentioned here, without any success.

Not sure if some of y'all read the whole thread but if you have any security lock enabled you will not be able to have shortcuts.

I have no security enabled and the shortcuts option is not present in the Australian unbranded rom.

Did you try scrolling left and right on the lock screen, on the widget that is on there? If I swipe left I go to the big box with all the shortcuts.

Nope, the option is not there. I've also install a UK ROM and the shortcut option is there (compare the screenshots below) . It looks like Samsung have disabled it in Australia. I was hoping that there would be a CSC setting to enable it but I haven't found anything yet.

Just to confirm that changing the lock option from swipe to # code makes the option to have the shortcuts operable. It's kinda lame that it won't work with the swipe!
