I have a 32GB SanDisk HC card and it seems to be the culprit of my battery drain! Anyone have any suggestions... I might switch to a different company card

I've heard if you reformat the card through the phone that it should fix the problem..
Just make sure to back up everything in the SD card

That most likely means you have an app that is constantly reading your card or a corrupt file on it. Download wakelock detector and see if it can help pinpoint it for you. But like the previous user says many have to reformat their card to fix the issue.

Here's a thread that may help you. I use greenify to deep sleep most apps to prevent them using power. But I've never had the media wake lock problem.

This happened to me on my Note 2. It was a corrupt music file. Reformat the card using the format tool on the phone, then reinstall your music, etc. Your problem should be solved with that.
