Does clearing RAM make your phone run faster or do you just leave the RAM how it is without clearing it?

Clearing the RAM will just close and reset running apps. It can be helpful to close some apps open and then let your system restart needed apps. It may help you run faster but for a short time as you use your phone and more apps remain open. After doing it your RAM usage will decrease temporarily, but it will go up again so probably not useful to do a lot.

I read somewhere that it increase in speed is meaningless and in the long run will use more battery since it has activate the app from scratch instead of from the ram.....

It will use more battery because the apps that you had killed will have to restart at some point during your normal use of the phone.

Android RAM utilization is little different than Windows utilizes RAM.
In Android, available RAM is wated RAM. Idle RAM space doesn't really mean better performance.

I beleive current version of Android manages far better than those 3rd party task killers.

Anyways, linux OS such as Android uses available RAM as much as possible and releases it if other apps requires it.

If you believe your device is running little sluggish, try clearing cache under app management.

Android does a pretty good job of memory management on its own and apps that you are going to frequently go back to will respond quicker if they are sitting in the background. You can clear them or leave them it makes little difference from my experience.

I'm not sure if i agree..when my phone becomes laggy, it's because the ram is below 100mb, and once I clear it, it works fine

Today's Android OS manages RAM to a tee! There's no need for any task killer or manager that's third party. Also it should be noted that Android OS likes to exist comfortably at around 1.2Gb .. so getting a device with atleast 3Gb RAM is highly suggested. If your device is sluggish and you have less than this, time for another device.

Yeah I read the same thing. Probably true, it makes sense. I think I read a while ago that Android apps running in the background are in kind of a"hibernation" state anyway, so any resources they're consuming are super minimal
