The problem is they are also the same source that are generic in who their Verizon source is and were the ones saying there would not be one. Kind of seems like they treat any single thing as real and lock on to it.

The info does not seem to add up, since has been over a day with no further information by any source other than parroting from the noted email.

Hoping it is true, but can not get a corporate rep to confirm and there is no product SKU in their system that would drive inventory flow in their supply chain.

Cruel hoax from a geek night cleaner with a sense of humor? If so, Tami Erwin should be demoted to intern for not setting a password on her computer!!

I'll ask one of my local Verizon shops about this, Sprint just pissed me off for what is likely to be the last time with added fees, increasingly pathetic service, and now not only are they saying no lte for another 3-4 years, but no S4's over 16GB......... >

This is from an Android Central article about the 8GB Nexus 4. I think its appropriate for this conversation.

"8 gigabytes of storage is enough, except for when its not
So, after telling you not to buy the 8-gigaybte Nexus 4, I went and bought the 8GB Nexus 4. With all the launch day chaos, I had a choice between an 8GB Nexus 4 or no Nexus 4, and I made the only decision I could -- to opt for the cheaper model with less on-board storage. Given a free choice, Id still recommend paying the extra $50 or 40 to double your storage, for all the reasons I went into in the original article.

But since Ive been slumming it on an 8GB Nexus 4, the limitation of 5.67GB of space for all my assorted crap hasn't been a huge impediment. Regular Android apps don't take up that much space, and since I'm on an unlimited data plan, streaming through Google Play Music is preferable to loading up the phone with MP3s the old-fashioned way.

The overwhelming majority of the time, 8GB is enough. (And we've had more than one manufacturer tell us their surveys support that.) There are just a couple of instances where the Nexus's anemic internal storage becomes troublesome. The first is gaming -- high-end Android games regularly weigh in at 1GB of more. Need for Speed: Most Wanted, for example, tips the scales at 2GB once all its files are installed. On an 8GB Nexus 4, that's more than a third of your available storage, meaning you'll have to ration what's left of your internal flash if you're a big gamer.

The second problem use-case is any kind of media consumption that relies on local files. If you're taking a long flight (say, halfway across the world for a major trade show), or traveling anywhere with less-than-stellar data connectivity (say, a major trade show halfway across the world), media streaming suddenly isn't an option. That means you'll need to load your phone up with files beforehand. And 5.67GB is easier to fill than you might think, especially when all your apps and downloads have to come out of that same allowance.

The community consensus is that 8GB is a little wanting, but 16GB is enough. Forum poster badbrad17 says of his 16GB model, "I have every app I could need installed plus lots of photos and videos and I still have 9GB free. And this is with 1.3GB for my Titanium backup. 8GB is certainly not enough but 16 is plenty for most people."

Misnomer being 16gb is really 9gb and applying one's own standard on others seems so elitist Some are trying to assert as such.

So simple a solution in offering all sizes on line and carry what they want in stores. The issue is the lack of choice and not each person's own perspective on usage. If you think a 16 model is fine, buy it Ditto for the other sizes too

As a 32GB ATT owner, if you can wait to order, it is really worth it. Having 24GB to work with is pretty sweet compared to less than 10 GB on the 16GB model.
I second this strongly, and feel for you Verizon guys.
I had to call AT&T directly after I pre-ordered my 16GB S4 I was just one day out past the buyer's remorse period when the 32GB version was announced. (It helps if you have multiple lines.)
Summary, if it's real and you can wait, please do so. You will not be dissapointed.

This is by design it seems. They will milk folks for the 16GB first, and when the word gets out that people want more onboard storage, THEN MAGICALLY, the 32 GB version will appear.

I am wondering if it is even accurate a 32gb is coming from Verizon. One email is the source of everything on the web so far and no Verizon staff, or media that usually dig for these things are aware of it.

You do not tell a customer and THEN tell your staff. Even for Verizon that seems super silly. I am not referring to sales reps, but actual corporate account managers.

After two days there is no other information? Makes no apparent sense, since it would be leaking out now beyond one email. Gottamobile conjecture based on the same email does not count.

A fake email seems too elaborate and the OP seems sincere, so not understanding the apparent disconnect here.

Well I don't think the email is fake. I think it may have been speculation by the Verizon employee. The website with that same email claims that it's been verified by Verizon....
I think this could go either way, but most likely they're not getting a 32GB S4. My speculation is based on the fact Verizon discontinued everything over 16GB and hasn't released anything more than that lately.

At least several people, including me sent Tami Erwin a note. The issue is why tell a customer and no staff and why no further information from other sources after two days? Makes no sense. Either the email is inaccurate, or their VP has an odd communication priority.

Added: If nothing else materializes by Friday, seems this is bunk. Regardless of the reason.

This will also help validate or invalidate Gottamobile as a legit source for news "sources". Not only did they pick up on the email, they added confirmation by their own source at Verizon. The same apparent source that said there would not be one, just a few weeks ago.

Nope, no information from any other source corroborating a 32gb S4 after three days for Verizon. Seems like the information is wrong, for whatever reason.

Thanks for your e-mail and the question regarding the S4 w/32GB of built in storage. Verizon plans to offer this option and is currently working w/Samsung to confirm the date in which this model will be available on-line.

    Appreciate your patience

    Tami
You ought to send a note back to Tami that if there is one coming, why no product SKU, or nobody else including their corporate regional staff have a clue yet? Even for product to be coming from Samsung, there has to be a SKU in their inventory system (product should be retail ready from Samsung final ship point). Seems odd a VP would tell a customer, but leave staff in the dark. This is not adding up. I stick with the position either Tami is an odd communicator, or the janitor is a geek with a sick sense of humor and Tami does not follow VZW policy for passwords

    BD,

Did you get this email directly? I have done a little research and the response wording nor signature fits a normal response from VZW leadership to customers. Not to mention nobody else knows anything about this. I am trying to give the VP a little credit in that none of this makes sense, so the logical alternative is the email is bunk. Makes no sense you would fake this, so not sure what to think, given nothing adds up. In a way, I think I would be more dissapointed now if the email is real, since would make VZW leadership look even worse. That said, they ARE forcing their people to read from a response script when they get S4 32GB questions, or 9GB storage questions: "The S4 16GB storage can be expanded to 64 more GB with a micro sd card, so 16GB is fine". There is very little paraphrasing on my part with that response.

I guess if VZW can apparently intentionally direct their people to mislead their customers, a VP with poor communication skills is not unthinkable.....

    Rushmore,

I wrote to VZW's CEO, COO and CMO on the Friday before Memorial Day. I got Tami's email back directly in my response to my email to the CEO. All I did was remove my personal info before reposting here.

I don't know why I'm the only person who got a response. The verbiage here seemed rushed to me but I'm still holding out hope that they carry the 32GB.

    I wouldn't fake an email.

Like everyone else here I just really want the 32GB.

I bought the 32 GB S3 last summer and have not regretted the purchase one bit. While I should probably clean up my storage (we can always do better) having the 32 GB model with 18 GB used and 8 GB available has made storage management unnecessary and although I own enough micro SD cards to expand if necessary I'm glad it isn't necessary. 9 GB available out of 16 GB would be unacceptable and at least Samsung only charges $50 for extra 16 GB vs. insane premium from other manufacturers. High end devices should have 16 GB minimum w/ micro SD and 32 GB minimum without (unless you're talking about extreme budget deal of the Nexus 4). What I really hate is the low and mid range devices are starting to come with decent specs (dual core, 720P screens - the GS3 is now mid range w/ $99 direct and as low as free on sale from 3rd parties) but only 8 GB built in. Would love to have a 4.5" 720P device since the GS3 is still a tad too big for my hands.

I appreciate you doing this, considering you could have easily said No and been understandable.

So we do have either a case of a VP making an idle commitment, or the models are really coming, but the staff are in the dark about it.

The only angle that would seem to make sense would be they are not announcing, since do not want to stunt 16gb sales in any manner. If that were the case though, why even reply with a near definitive answer? I "know" (FWIW) per several people that Verizon has plenty of stock, so not like the S4 is selling out. Inquiries are also high for the 32gb model, but "high"is a relative term and subjective without numbers.

Best Buy also have plenty of stock, but no word on 32gb interest.

    Rushmore,

No problem, like Ive said I just want the 32GB. I hoped if enough people contacted VZW then they might emphasize might carry it.

Im seeing similar threads in the T-Mobile and Sprint Forums since the 32GB has been a question for three of the four carriers is Samsung the issue here?

Supply chain-related issues and thats why things have been so quiet?

Samsung hasnt given the carriers a firm date and the carriers dont want to impact the sale of the 16GB model?
