I posed this question in the note 2 forums when I had that phone. Which do you prefer, stock or 3rd party? I personally use SwiftKey. Always have.

I like the number keys on the stock keyboard, but I installed my favorite SwiftKey. It just predicts my inputs better.

I've used swiftkey since I got the galaxy s3. Swift key has been really laggy lately when I rapid text. Someone on here mention Kii keyboard on how its like swift but with the numbers on the top like the stock. I downloaded it n love it better then swiftkey, n best of all no lag while rapid texting ah yes n u can have emoji plug in.

I've been using the stock android 4.2 keyboard. Downloaded the apk file and installed. I had the nexus4 and really loved that keyboard.

I'll switch between KII and SwiftKey all day. I love both. SwiftKey may be better for predictions but the number row on kii is a major plus. Maybe you can change the settings on SwiftKey to rapid from accurate to help when you type faster

The rapid vs precise setting has been removed. But mine seems to keep up just fine.

I've tried using kii, it's great! I also used Swype before, and that's okay, but I find myself also going back to SwiftKey, especially now that I have Flow. =)

I tried the stock keyboard for a bit and although I like the design the lack of auto correct is a definite issue.

SwiftKey on my GS4 and Note 10.1 Tablet. Started using it on my GS3. It is all a matter of personal preference.

I finally went back to Smart Keyboard Pro that I was used to on my old phone. I like the 10 key number pad option.

I bought swiftkey for my wife's HTC One and she loves it. That being stated, on my S4 I havent switch. I know the keyboard with the S4 is like a lite version of swiftkey. I really don't care about autocompletion and other features. I guess the big difference is how much do you use your keyboard. My wife does around 7K texts a month. I may do around 20-30 texts a month if that.

I agree that it is the best for touch typing. But for flow I think stock might be better.

I feel like I need to get used to using swiftkey flow because i want to have a consistent experience no matter what phone I'm using. I just recently started using the flow feature. I've always used the touch typing function with swiftkey. But my friend convinced me that sweeping is much faster
