Screen Coming on for every text recieved

Hey guys I tried doing a search but didn't really find an answer. Anyway to make It so that my screen doesn't light up and turn on every time I get a text message? I'm using the stock messaging app. The sound, vibration and notification light are enough for me, I don't need my phone turning on for every single message I receive. Any help would be appreciated.

I appreciate it but that link didn't help. In my messaging app, I'll go to settings and there is no option for a lock screen pop-up like a person in that other thread was talking about.
