Recently got my Galaxy s4 and am still on a learning curve (steep, very steep at times!) and thats why Im here.

I managed to set up my email account (yahoo) and can send and receive messages, so no problem there. My problem lies with the email notification sounds they suck!

So question: how do you add a personalized notification sound for your email in yahoo mail on the Galaxy s4?

So far Ive managed to figure out how to get to the sounds: Yahoo app settings (press little purple envelope top left to open) account settings notification settings choose sound (default sounds) but I cant figure out how to put my own in there. So any ideas?

On my search for an answer Ive come across a few comments that say you cant personalize an email alert for Yahoo, its either a bug or yahoo have set it up that way. True or False?

Yes I can select any of the notification sounds provided by yahoo. BUT I want to select my own notification sound that's what I can't figure out.

How do you add a personalized notification sound into Yahoo Mail?

The yahoo mail app only lets you use root notification sounds but u can download a ringtone setter from play store or u can use light flow to set a custom notification.

    1. Open the Yahoo Mail app

    2. Scroll to the left below your folders and tap settings (under the tools section)

    3. Select the account that you want to change the sound for.

    4. Tap Choose Sound (top option)

    5. I believe you can choose any default sound or, select any other sound you have downloaded.

    Hope this helps!
