So I've been on my iPhone 5 for the past month and a half and I'm starting to miss the android platform. My question is, does the S4 still lag considerably like it used to when it first came out?

I see some lagg once in a while; i don't know how bad it was when it first came out tho cause i got my s4 after the update but it sometimes takes a few seconds for the Gallery to open it.

There has been a lot of people reporting lag in the gallery.

I don't notice any lag on my day to day usage. All seems wonderful here on my end.

Who uses the native gallery anyway? I think it sucks, lol. I've used quick pic for years.. No lag whatsoever. I also have zero lag elsewhere on my sprint gs4.

I love quick pic! I never go on any device with out. I especially love the hide option. :-)

I noticed some lag when setting up the phone a couple of days ago. When I was downloading a number of apps the phone bogged down.

And that will happen when you are asking that much of your processor. Download one at a time and you will either experience no lag or just a little hiccup during the "installation" portion of the process.

What 'big update', the only updates I am getting is here & there for Samsung's software on the phone, and they've really done nothing; of course my carrier needs to approve firmware (ie: Android) updates to the phone(s) before they are sent out.

Depends on your tolerance to Animation Lag (stutter). The iPhone is absolutely smoother than the S4. So is the HTC One. It just honestly depends on your tolerance. Now that the Google Edition S4 is out, just load the GE ROM onto are carrier S4 and you'll be good to go!

Except that when doing the exact same thing on my HTC One there was no lag.

I also noticed lag this morning when trying to log a ride using a couple of apps.

Yes it lags horribly. The S4 is by far the worst performing of all the high end phones released this year. It constantly lag and stutters in basic activities like scrolling a simple list. Not to mention the UI is ugly and looks like Gingerbread.
