GMail stopped pushing

Has anyone else encountered this? My Gmail app stopped pushing emails. I have to manually go in there and refresh. I didn't even know there was an option to turn this off.

My question now is, how do I get it back?

Did you check your Google account on your phone to make sure it is set up to sync? Did you turn off background data?

Yup my data and wifi are on. I'm still logged in because I can get my mail by manually hitting refresh. Plus my Google hangouts works fine for gchat messages

I also had the problem, Sync kept showing an error. Restarted phone, corrected. However don't know if it was restart or Gmail servers.

Make sure Sync is active... I had the same problem until I realized Sync was turned off.

I have SnapDragon battery Guru installed, and I found that it does affect the delivery of email from both Gmail and Yahoo mail, depending on the settings of the app. (Just a heads up).

Well, it comes down to longer battery life (leave the settings alone), vs. quicker e-mail delivery (change the setting within SDG App from "Based on how you use it" to " when it wants").
