Got an S4 last week. I notice that with either native task manager or ES task manager, it says it kills the apps but when I go to Settings - Application manager, those apps are still running and have to be force closed. Apps are running that I never activated and the mem is sometimes down to 275 M out of 1300 M or more optimal. Any app out there that actually force closes apps and frees up mem?

There are too many apps. But there aren't good. The task killers are bad. You think that this will help your phone but this won't .
The best solution is to hold your finger on the home button and then close all apps.
    If i helped, click Thanks

Did the home button thing. It only views them as recently used apps. Still have to force close from the settings - application mgr menu.
    Anybody?

Yes . I understood what u mean. But the point is that force closing apps isn't very good , because :
    1) every app will have to restart when you open it , so it 'll need more time to open.
2)there will be more data usage.
    3)it may cause errors.

And i can't understand why u want to freeze apps. The s4 has 2 gb of ram which is a huge memory, so no need to worry about this subject
    Enjoy your s4 !!

If there are apps enabled that you never want to use you can disable them in the Application Manager. If they're apps that you want enabled I agree to just let them stay in memory. My understanding is that Android keeps a lot of stuff in memory on purpose (that's what it's for after all) and then frees up memory if needed.

Thank you for the quick reply. I'll keep an eye on mem usage.
