Well I have had otter box defender on my 3gs, 4s and gs3. Now that case is tough and all expect 3gs look like new.
I am getting gs4 soon as in maybe next 2 weeks I hope. As usual I buy otter box defender might do that for now since I might have to order a case

Anybody used the following cases
Element eclipse
Urban amor gear outland.
Any others (it must handle drops on a hard surface from at least 5ft and feels great and must be able to use my touch screen without having to have a gap between the 2)
I dont really care for slip on cases any only hard cases with a outter shell

Thank ya

I'm going to go naked pretty soon because I ordered a purse custom made with an S4 slot. But I have two cases right now - a Speck soft plastic case I got at Best Buy when I got the S4 and the Spigen Slim Armor View case. For you, I strongly recommend the latter. It fully covers the phone and has a window like the official S cases. The difference is it's plastic and actually snaps shut. I love it, it was a pretty good price, you can see it here:SPIGEN SGP Galaxy S4 Case Slim Armor View | SPIGEN SGP

I use the Element Eclipse. Iove the look. I feel it actually makes the phone look even better and i love how it channels all the sound to front. This, with a Zagg Invisible Shield and I'm protected well enough.

After trying so many, IMO, the Samsung OEM Protective Cover Plus or Cruzerlite Androidified TPU offer the best slimness/protection combo

I bought the Griptek by Pure Gear. It fits the phone even with the Samsung wireless charging back on, and the phone charges wirelessly with it on as well. I looked at several cases mentioned here and did not find any info regarding their compatibility with the charging backplate. This case has special shock absorbing corners for extra protection and and the grip is solid.

I'm rocking this guy that I got on Amazon. Nice padded front and back. I dropped it yesterday pretty horribly and not a scratch. I'm also looking into a commuter or an Eclipse for outdoor stuff.

Just curious, when you flip open the SPGEN Slim Armor case and fold it all the way over is the camera covered or do you have to take pics with the flap hanging looose?

I actually think its better with the flap. You can use 2 hands. 1 hand holds the phone and the other holds the bottom of the flip lid. Great protection too. Never thought I would spend $50 for a case. Well worth it

Agreed. Yes the flap hangs loose but I don't think it's a big deal. This case is awesome.
