Split screen help

Hey folks - One thing I was excited about when switching up from my x2 to the s4 is the split screen.

I can use it, it's easy. However....

Is there a way to add apps to it that aren't in the list? I tried and it was unsuccessful :-/

e.g. One thing I REALLY want to do is be able to view my calendar and dialer at the same time. When I have a telecon, I want to make the call to the conference # and be able to view the calendar to get the code needed for the telecon.

There's a list floating around here with apps that participate with multi window if you do a search. You may be able to add more if you switch to different apps that do the same function.
Otherwise you'll have to root.

Ahhh. So rooted you can add whatever apps you want for split screen?

I likely won't root until they come up with a recovery flash for it. I have a Verizon unit. SCH-I545

That list is very helpful - thanks. I'm curious though - is there any explanation why all stock apps (eg. Dialer/Calendar) can't use it? While I understand the power of rooting the device, why does this allow you use all apps?

Cool, yeah not sure about all the ramifications of stock multi window. With that app I linked you can do it with calendar etc. So not sure why stock is so limited.
