Been having this issue that seems to become increasingly worse over time. Ill make a call and the person whom answers cannot hear me. This started last week. Anyone else with this issue and if so, how the heck to fix it, aside from a factory reset. Thanks all.

Just wondering, are you sure you're not covering the mics? A misplaced hand can easily block that small opening, just asking because I had the same issue :P

Yes, I am 110% sure I am not covering the mic. This didnt happen, at all up until about a week ago. Even on speakerphone the issue persists.

Sounds like a hardware issue, not software. Might be time to take it in for a replacement

It sometimes happens to me but that's because of my network. Either I have low signal created by their tinkering or there's too much traffic within the network.

It all started one day when I was trying to put my dad on hold to talk to my girlfriend. When I clicked over, she couldnt hear me. She then hung up. When I came back to my dads call, he couldnt hear me either. After that day, the problem started. I looked on xda-developers.com and they suggested I back up my phone via sd card or use my pc and do a system restore.

So you didn't drop it or damage it in any way? Hmm, not sure what part of the software affects the mic but I'd recommend a factory reset even though you were try to avoid this

I've dropped it a few times, but I have a good sturdy case.

But the cause of it doesn't seem to be that since the problem happened during a phone call. You have insurance from your carrier or store you bought it from?

I do not have insurance. But it is still covered through the warranty.

If it's covered through the warranty you won't be charged for a replacement, I'd go to the T-Mo store and tell them your problem. If they can't help you fix it ask them how you can send it back.

Yea this is my second s4. The first one had other issues. T-Mobile makes their customers pay $20 to have another sent. And sometimes its a refurbished phone they send back as a replacement. Before I do that, I'll back everything up and do a system restore. Maybe, just maybe it will fix the issue.
