I tried searching but was wondering is there a way that the "ok google now" that made moto x so famous be possible with the s4. If not now do you think it will happen in a future update? I found a work around but it still involves me touching the device lol.

The touchless control of the Moto x is not available on s4. It's a nice feature, but I like the active notifications even better. You can get something similar on the s4 by getting the dynamic notification app. It works great on AMOLED screens.

You can have continuous voice recognition using Tasker and AutoVoice but it sucks your batteries pretty quick. I haven't tried it on the S4 but a bit of research will probably show you what you need.

Android KitKat is supposed to bring that functionality, so let's all sit tight and pray Samsung is working on an update.

You can already install the APKs needed for the new Google Experience Launcher, which gives you the ability to say "OK Google" followed by a command. Using it on my S4 at the moment and it works fairly well so far.

Unlike the Moto X, the command doesn't work with the screen off or on the lockscreen.

Yeah I don't think that is ever going to work screen off with the S4. The MotoX actually has a seperate processor that is specifically designed to always listen for the "Ok Google" command. Even the Nexus 5 doesn't do this.

I installed that launcher and the google search crashed every time I used it.

See post #175. That's what fixed it for me.
