I'm considering a gs4 for a Christmas gift but I know Samsung usually releases their new galaxy phone in the spring. I'm wondering whether or not to buy the s4 now or wait a few months. Looking back the s3 had a good long life (they're still selling) and remained relevant after the launch of the s4.

    What are your thoughts?

I suppose that depends on whether or not you're content enough with your current phone to ride it out until the S5 comes out.

The S4 is still one of the nicer devices out there, hands down. Just as what's said above... It depends how often you buy devices

I would go ahead and buy the s4 for a few reasons.

    1. Samsung is going to RADICALLY change their device for the s5. As we all know, radical changes with Samsung can lead to radical bugs and issues.

    2. Building on the first point, there are rumors of a 4k ultra HD display and a non-removable aluminum back, both of which are going to really put a drain on battery life.

    3. The s4 is confirmed to be getting Android 4.4 (which will make it stupid fast) and possibly Android 5.0

    4. You can always buy a subsidized s4, now, then sell the phone on eBay when the s5 comes out and almost have enough to just buy the s4 out right.
