text message problems

Ever since I got the update, when I click to type in a persons name to text. It will only bring up certain contacts and mostly email address. Never had this problem before. I can go to contacts and find the person and text that way. But to start typing the contact in the text message screen, it won't do it. Never had this problem before. Hope its any easy fix. I need help. Thanks

My wife just got the S4 on Monday. Today she noticed this same problem. I had gone through all possible settings and contact display options and could not figure it out at first. While digging further into this issue I discovered how the contacts work.

If the contact info is set as a 'Device' contact then when you type in the persons name or number it will not come up for texts. You have to have the contact info entered as a 'Google' account contact.

I can further try to explain if necessary.
