Moving from iPhone to Galaxy S4

I have a coworker who has been a longtime iPhone user (her only smartphone) and picked up the S4 this weekend. I've never used an iPhone so I can't help her much, but what do you all recommend to ease the transition for an iPhone person (not very techie) to a Galaxy S4 (VZ)? I suggested SwiftKey when she complained of the keyboard, but I don't really know what apps or anything compares to iPhone. She's also having some battery life issues (it was almost dead by early afternoon yesterday). I attributed it to the widgets and bloatware that may be syncing often and recommended she remove the widgets and check what's syncing on the phone. Mine (with T-Mobile) can last all day without a charge and with moderate use. So any tips on iPhone --> Galaxy S4 and improving battery life (on a new VZ phone) is appreciated!

Ask her to update to the latest possible version first.

S4 is s*** out of the box.

Swiftkey gets predictions better and better with the more and more usage of it.

Don't use any garbage battery savers or task killers or anti virus etc.

Use power saving mode given by Samsung (never use that feature when you want good performance because battery savers often throttle the performance)

Re install Facebook and ask her to set her refresh period for email longer if possible. (don't change the refresh period for the sake of changing some setting, do it only if possible because mails can be important)

Uncheck the unnecessary stuff in sync settings for Google and Samsung accounts.

Could you please obtain a screenshot of her s4 battery stats and post it ?

Edit : widgets don't take up much battery life IMHO. It must be a rogue app

Is that true? Using battery savers drains more battery that usual? O_O

some battery savers and all task killers throttle the performance and kill apps/processes

Apps will take up more power because they can't resume.

I switched from an iPhone to the s4 and am close to going back. I've been told to add the battery life app and virus protection. Also prior to these add one and currently my battery won't last 1/2 a day! I was hoping this phone would be pretty easy to use.
