    I have a Verizon Samsung Galaxy S4 and the email stopped receiving but sending OK. In talking to Verizon Tech support they have me delete my email account and rebuild using the auto configure. The auto configure changed my incoming server to an IMAP, PORT 993, from a pop type account and my outgoing server to a standard SMPT type account. This fixed my problem.
