    I have GPS off. Tell me how/why, with Google Now active, that my phone with the GPS turned off in settings, knows where I am, parked, etc.? How many minutes to the gym..that type stuff.
    SOMETHING, SOMEWHERE has to be turned on related to a GPS.

    That's because your using mobile networks and wifi to locate you.

    Hmm...wow. That's ok, I ain't skeered big brother finding me, lol.
    I was just wondering did it use up precious battery and maybe there is an option to disable that.

    Yeah there's no place to hide with these toys turned on. And relax about your battery if your location services are in power saving mode.
