Is this a virus or not?

Ive got a samsung s4 phone?

I kept getting a notification asking me to 'system update'

Specifically "software update version v6_1309_3_1"

When i did, it reset my phone and then same message came up again.

So i did it 5 times during today.

On the last time i 'Forced stop' on the update process.

Is it a genuine update or a virus?

If the message comes in on your home screen its an advert as Samsung wouldn't push like that also update would have such stupid names have you installed APK's of the web they usually have little ads in.

Thanks for the the reply. I have no idea what an apk is. It was just in my notification not like a big message that popped up. I have no idea. Im worrying since i downloaded it a few times ive now got a virus or something :/ is there anyway to check?

Your phone's behavior seems strange. You could try downloading an antivirus app and scan your device. I recommend Avast Mobile Security. (it is free and you can find it in the Play Store)
