Sim-Free S4 wont update

Hello,

I have a UK Galaxy S4 GT-I9505.

I bought it Sim-Free and unlocked.

Currently it runs Android 4.2.2. When i go to 'Software Update' and check for updates, it says 'The latest updates have already been installed'.

How is that correct, when the version of Android is so old? Why won't it let me upgrade to 4.3/4.4 etc?

Any help appreciated.

Thanks!

Re: Sim-Free S4 wont update

Welcome to Android Central! There can be many versions of a given Galaxy phone, depending on the carrier and geographic location. System updates can depend on the particular version of the phone--some may be updated higher than others. The carrier often figures into this, because they have to sign off on the update as well.

You could try flashing the ROM yourself via Odin. http://forums.androidcentral.com/am...ide-samsung-how-flash-stock-rom-via-odin.html. See if you can find the latest official ROM for your exact model here: Firmwares | SamMobile
