swap internal memory with insurance phone

Hey everyone I found my lost phone after filing the claim with asurian. I would love to send the new phone back, but its against the policy. My old s4 lcd is blacked out and i cannot back up anything on it. Can i swap the internal memory with the new asurain phone? I am assuming they have blocked the esn since it was lost. Do i have any options? Its a very simple swap since the new phone has everything and I have to do is change the internal memory. Is the motherboard/memory attached to esn?

You should be able to backup the data using a desktop app or perhaps even the Samsung app Smart Switch: Data Transfer for your Devices | Samsung may help. also you may find another device that has a good display but a bad ESN and then you could always swap the displays and rebuild your original device and get the data out that way. But it sounds like a lot of work.
