Samsung Galaxy S4 Touch Screen Won't Respond

I've had my phone or over a year and today I pulled it out of my pocket and went to swipe it to unlock but the touch screen just wouldn't respond. I've turned it off and on but now i can't do anything as i need to type the SIM pin in. The power button, back button and more info button still work. What is the problem???

Re: Samsung Galaxy S4 Touch Screen Won't Respond

Welcome to Android Central! Try forcing a power off by first waking the phone, then pressing and holding the Power button for about 10-15 seconds until it shuts off. Alternatively, you could just pull the battery for 10 seconds. Then boot up again, and see if the touchscreen is still unresponsive. If it is, then the digitizer may have failed. Any recent drops, trauma or water damage?

A failed digitizer can be replaced by a good repair shop.
