how do I stop magnets from putting my galaxy s4 mini to sleep? (For car mount)

I have a galaxy s4 mini. Magnets put it in some sort of sleep mode. I do not want this to happen. (I would like to use a magnetic car mount.)

I'm not sure if that sensor is used for anything else, but is there a way to either disable that functionality, or to disable the sensor entirely?

Unfortunately there's no way to disable that sensor unless you root your phone and find either the right line of code to modify, a ready-made hack to disable (or direct it to do something else), or a ROM that has that baked in.

I found this thread while trying to fix this problem. My S4 worked fine with a magnetic mount until an OS upgrade. After learning about the S View issue, I experimented and found the fix. Got to My Device->Accessories->S ViewCover. Check teh box underl Show in-call screen. Problem solved.
