i've noticed this problem since the upgrade to lollipop.
When i open the stock dialer app and attempt to type in the name of the person (for example, John Smith) - either John or Smith - (and they're in the contacts with a phone number), the number does not come up. I need to go into the contacts screen, pull up the name then select the # to dial
This does not happen with everyone - I use MS Exchange to keep my contacts and that is the only list of contacts i use
Since the update, i typically run out of storage space now and have to clear cache every few days - i don't know if that's the issue or something else.
Removing the Exchange account and reinstalling doesn't seem to help.
