Phone Not Reconnecting to Cellular Network without Restart
This issue started happening when I updated the firmware on my Samsung Galaxy S4 to version 5.0.1. Essentially, if I lose cellular connection for too long, most of the time I will have to restart my phone to get it to reconnect to the cell network. This used to happen occasionally with the older firmware but I could recover it by toggling Airplane Mode on then off. However now I have to completely restart my phone to reconnect. There are occasions where it will reconnect to the cell network by itself, but I haven't found a pattern to it. I use Verizon as well.
