Why doesn't my Samsung Galaxy S4 have service with wifi?

Samsung Galaxy s4 problem with service

Hey, whenever I'm on WiFi and I no longer receive service bars, people cannot text or call me unless I leave the house. Any help?

Welcome to Android Central! Is this only for MMS (picture texts), or SMS (simple texts) as well? MMS requires mobile data (not wi-fi), but SMS goes over the voice signal, so that shouldn't matter.

Go to Settings>Wi-fi​, tap Menu>Advanced, and turn off Smart Network Switch. See if that makes a difference.

Hey there, thanks for the reply, I have done what you said and It still isn't working.

Yes, for both. I cannot text, send mms or access data. Just says No Service when I'm in range with WiFi.

Are there any power-saving modes on, or have you installed any 3rd party battery-saving apps?

Nope, it was working fine until I had my screen fixed. It's a factory restore.

Oh, that's an important bit of information. I've seen this issue mentioned before from people who had to replace their screen. It may be that the wi-fi antenna connection came loose or was damaged during the course of the screen replacement. Who did the repair, you or a technician?

a technician did, cell phone repair. I went back and, he said it was odd. it started working then it stopped after I left..

It sounds like the connection might be loose, or otherwise tenuous. Ask the technician to open the phone up again and check.
