Dropped my Samsung Galaxy S4, now the screen is blacked out. How do I recover my photos?

This passed Monday evening my Samsung Galaxy S4 (only 4 months old) slipped off the coffee table onto the carpet. Now my screen is blacked out. I have a lot of photos in my gallery, and I do not know how to recover them, and transfer them onto my laptop. Also, my phone is locked. I am devastated and have lost sleep over this.
Please help :'(

Welcome to Android Central! It looks like you already posted in this thread, but have you actually read the instructions and tried them? http://forums.androidcentral.com/ge...de-accessing-locked-phone-cracked-screen.html. If you're unable to do it, then your other option is to bring the phone to a repair shop and get the screen replaced.

I did read many instructions here after I posted in this thread. Yesterday, I also found a repair shop located in my town. I am glad to have come across this website. Very informative...thank you!
