SmartWatch with Rooted Verizon GS4?

Hello, So I bought my Verizon GS4 right when it came out, I rooted it and blocked the OTA updates, and I basically haven't messed with it since then. So its currently running 4.2.2. I am interested in getting an Android Wear device, perhaps a LG Urbane, but it requires android 4.3 or higher. I've been out of the game for quite some time and it appears there's no way to update my device without breaking root? I just want to make sure I can't do what I want with my current device, as i'm satisfied with it, before looking for a new device. Thanks.
