My S4 has been on version 4.3 FOREVER! When I try to update it, it tells me its up to date. At first I wasnt worried about it, then I noticed it prevented me from installing some of the newer apps..Any help? Also I know very little about phones.

Have you ever rooted your device? If so, simply uprooting unfortunately may not fix it. If you have been rooted before, you will need to flash the phone back to stock first and then try to get the update.

After reading your reply, I realized you probably haven't rooted the phone before. Did you buy the phone off of someone else? Is your phone from a wireless carrier, or is it an unlocked phone?
