My SGS4 keeps opening apps and draining my battery

I turned on my Samsung Galaxy S4 and a bunch of the apps I have installed started opening on their own. I close them out and they either reopen or other apps I have installed open on their own. My battery went from 100% to 93% in less than 2 minutes because of this. What could be the cause and how would I go about fixing it?
